Chief of party Bangladesh


Chemonics International seeks an experienced chief of party candidate to manage an anticipated USAID-funded sustainable economic growth project in Bangladesh. This project will work with public and private sector stakeholders to increase food security and improve the regional and international trade environment in Bangladesh through policy reforms, customs capacity building, and trade facilitation. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
  • Supervise all project activities and ensure successful performance of the project team
  • Provide strategic technical and administrative leadership
  • Ensure quality control and timeliness of all deliverables
  • Review project financials and results
  • Serve as the principal liaison with USAID staff, the government of Bangladesh, local partners, and other counterparts
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is required, including business management, international development, business enabling environment, trade policy, trade facilitation, or customs
  • Minimum 15 years of experience with U.S. government or other similar development projects 
  • Minimum five to eight years of experience leading a program of similar size and scope
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Bangladeshi and/or regional trade context
  • Proven track record of achieving development results in a similar context
  • Demonstrated ability to work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including national and local government, donors, community-based organizations, think tanks and universities, and the private sector
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to build and manage cooperative high-level relationships and motivate subordinates
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Spoken and written fluency in English
