Department

Television Production co-ordinators required to work in Classical Music Television, a department within the Audio and Music division of the BBC. This busy department is responsible for much of the BBC’s classical music and dance programming on all four BBC channels. Our core output includes Proms, opera and ballet from The Royal Opera House, landmark documentary series, drama documentaries, concerts and live events coverage.                    

Role

 3 x Attachments/Fixed Term Contracts are available (Grade 5D):

13th May – 4th October - 21 weeks
3rd June – 13th August – 15 weeks
24th June – 13th September – 12 weeks
 
The purpose of the role is to provide support in the planning and logistics of Proms 2013. In addition, to provide finance and administrative support throughout the production process.  Applicants should have at substantial experience working in a television department, including working on television events and outside broadcasts, with evidence of having played a key supportive role within a production team and knowledge of the television production process.

Requirements

Knowledge of Classical Music and the ability to read a score is essential. Experience of working on television event coverage and outside broadcasts is essential. Numeracy and an understanding of the need for budgeting, cost monitoring and forecasting, strong computer skills and an aptitude for learning new software packages and good business and communication skills are required. Proven ability to work to tight deadlines, flexibility, initiative and discretion are also necessary skills.
