Scion Technical (www.sciontechnical.com),a full service national recruiting firm has been retained to conduct a search for a Sr. Linux Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer

The Company

We are a $1B+, fast-growing communications technology company in San Jose, California looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer to work in our disaster recovery center.

We are looking for a self-directed individual with strong communication skills, a great team attitude, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.

The Role

Typical hours – 9am-6pm

Work in our disaster recovery center

Perform server administration across a Windows and Linux environment – this role will primarily deal with Linux servers, but will also handle Windows and ESX5 Servers

Requirements

7+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator

Experience as a Windows Systems Administrator

Extensive knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Debian Linux environments

Expertise in:

     Linux/Windows Systems administration

     Red Hat and Debian Linux

Experience with

     VMware ESX5 and VCenter 

     IBM Servers, X Series

Experience with Systems monitoring tools (IBM Director, Manage Engine App Manager)

Programming / scripting experience using PHP

Experience with Apache and MySQL

Excellent communication skills

Strong troubleshooting skills

Desired skills

Experience with Oracle

Familiarity with SAN environment
