The World Bank seeks to recruit a Lead Urban Specialist with extensive international experience and exceptional technical expertise in urban development for its work in Europe and Central Asia (ECA).
Duties include:
• Promote excellence in ECA’s urban practice by providing operational and technical leadership for lending operations, analytical work and advisory services.
• Lead policy dialogue and client engagement by drawing on international best practice, promoting innovation, and ensuring responsiveness to clients.
• Lead high-quality high-impact analytical work, complex Bank-financed projects, and implementation of ECA’s urban strategy. Selection Criteria:
• Advanced degree(s) in engineering, urban planning, public administration, economics or a related field and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
Prior experience with an International Finance Institution, especially the World Bank, is highly desirable.
• Multi-regional experience in delivery of investment operations, policy notes and reports, in one or more of these areas: urban/regional economic development, urban planning, municipal finance, housing, municipal infrastructure/services. • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams on complex tasks, think strategically, and mentor staff.
