Job Purpose
 
You will be responsible to deliver key functions which are required to ensure that Etihad’s aircraft operation fulfills Continuous Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) requirements (Part M) and is optimized under safety, reliability and costs aspects
 
Responsibilities
 
Your responsibilities shall include, but not limited to, the following ATA chapters: 22, 23, 24, 26, 30, 31, 33, 34, 45, and 46.
  • Ensure that aircraft avionic and electrical systems are operated at optimum level of reliability with minimum ground and air technical interruptions.
  • Assessment of avionic and electric systems Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins on Etihad’s fleet to ensure that all Airworthiness Directives for avionic and electric systems are properly assessed, decided and timely incorporated to maintain aircraft safety standard.
  • Attend Etihad and Sub-Contractors Modification Review Committee in such way that respective Mandatory SB and Mod   are accomplished on time.
  • Oversee sub-contracted functions. Proactively track and analyze Aircraft operation in close cooperation with OEMs and MRO Technical Services to identify shortcomings and risks at early stage. Ensure deployment of rectifying actions/ measures at earliest opportunity, coordinating MRO and OEM services.
  • Ensure that all Etihad Airways fitted with connectivity are operating as technically specified, drive the maturity of the system; this includes collecting BITE data information, set it for analyses and drives the vendor for improvement in system reliability and availability via professional troubleshooting.
  • Ensure that future A380/787 NSS and enable networks are operating according to its specification. Due to the complexity of modern entertainment and IT systems, a close correlation with the supplier of these systems and ETD Flight Ops has to be ensured to achieve required availability rates for the system for safe operation.
  • Incorporation of company requested avionic, electric and passenger entertainment system modifications, which are requested by Etihad to i.e. enhance customer satisfaction, shall be technically and commercially assessed and presented in a meaningful format for management decision and approval.
  • Carry out any technical projects as directed by the Etihad Engineering management.
Requirements
Experience:
 
Tertiary qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements for membership as a charted engineer (e.g. Bachelor degree in the field of Aeronautical/Avionic or Electrical/Electronic engineering) and 5 years job-related experience, OR 10 years job-related experience in the field of Aircraft Maintenance within Commercial Aviation or Airline Engineering is generally preferred. Strong Aircraft systems background relevant to the Etihad Airways fleet, at least 2 aircraft types, and adequate project management skills are required. Experience in a multi-cultural working environment is preferred.
 
Training & Knowledge:
  • Formal training in systems engineering, project management and/or aircraft specific type courses is preferred.
  • Permanent education to secure up-to-date understanding of current and anticipation of future legislation needs as well as basics of financial airline management.
  • A working knowledge of ‘Software Configuration Management’ within the Commercial Aviation environment is essential, including the production, control and dissemination of ‘User Modifiable Software’ components to the fleet. Manage the aircraft software inventory and insure availability of required software components to support the operation of the fleet.
  • Experience and understanding to LRU and schematics level of ‘in-flight’ connectivity systems to include, but not limited to, mobile telephony, SMS and e-mail capabilities up to full internet access via satellite data systems.
