It is the policy of the Bank to give preference in employment opportunities to nationals of its member countries which are the Commonwealth Caribbean countries together with Colombia, Haiti, Mexico and Venezuela and the following non-regional countries: Canada, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Peoples Republic of China.
To fulfill its mandate, CDB employs a wide range of skills. For example, our staff include technical specialists in environmental science, engineering, banking, finance, human resource management and development, information technology, macroeconomics, law, general management, public administration and project management.

CDB looks for mature individuals who understand development and possess sound interpersonal and communication skills.

- Indefinite (full-time appointment of indefinite duration);
- Fixed-term (full-time appointment for a specific period of not less than one year and not exceeding three years); and
- Temporary appointment for a period of not more than one year.
CDB has very special needs in light of its international nature; competition is keen and employment opportunities are limited.
