Graduate Program Manager (Airport Operations)

Job Purpose
To manage the design, delivery, evaluation and review of Emiratisation related training programs for all Emirati’s across the Etihad network. To engage with the business by spending time in applicable business units in order to collect feedback for training needs analysis. Development and management of Emirati talent in order that they be the future leaders.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee research and design of Etihad specific training curriculum for all Emiratisation courses. This also includes adding enhancements and updates to existing content. This could be based on new requirements or feedback from line managers and or Emirati trainees. Consider quality of the content and delivery in line with the ILM standards/requirements in order that we maintain centre approval status.
  • Deliver world class training programs & coaching sessions for Emirati’s. Maintain a high percentage of students’ feedback results for relevant programs delivered fall within the 2 upper categories of student satisfaction.
  • Manage and lead a team of facilitators to ensure consistency of practice and that design and delivery is according to best practice.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the line managers and counseling for trainees where required on matters related to their ability to meet standards and instructional objectives. This includes taking action where trainees show inability to meet standards and instructional objectives. Consult with line managers to keep updated on current business needs in order to manage and oversee the movement of graduates from one department to another. Constant feedback between line managers and trainees where enhancements are necessary to the success of the programs.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on any major projects and maximize working relationships with the concerned project owners or line departments to provide an ideal learning solution to support the roll out to the network in order to keep abreast of best practices. Constant communication to line on successes of the program as well as needs for improvement and make suggestions according to best practise.
  • Assess, evaluate and certify trainees and facilitators on training interventions. Keep an overview of results and trends in order to constantly provide coaching where portfolio indicates assessment criteria are not being met.
  • Collate, evaluate and recommend on the outcome of Training Needs Analysis conducted for key stakeholders, establishing the focus of training for the business.
  • Oversee a career progression process where Emirati talent is mapped according to the nine block model and development options are suggested and followed through. In consultation with line managers, provide development plans to facilitate the further development of Emirati’s post graduation.
  • Full accountability of the success of the graduate program in accordance with targets set as well as program objectives
Requirements
Qualification & Education:
Minimum:
  • Educated up to A Level or equivalent
  • Holding a recognized Train the Trainer certification
Desired:
  • Degree or Diploma Holder in related field or relevant HRD qualification
Advantage:
  • Psychometric qualification at any recognized international institute
  • Post graduate qualification in Management or HRD
Specialized:
  • A recognized advanced professional skill qualification in the specific area of expertise
Experience:
Minimum:
  • Five years experience in the related field that compliments the area of expertise required
  • Three years working experience in the specific skill environment in a supervisory or senior operations role
  • Three years experience in a training or coaching role
Desired: 
  • Training and/or coaching in the aviation industry
  • Design of classroom and on line learning materials
  • Experience in conducted training needs analysis
  • Experience in leading a result oriented team within an operational environment        
Advantage:
  • Two years experience in using psychometric tools for rapport building or recruitment
Training & Knowledge:
Minimum:
  • Strong command of spoken & written English
  • Well developed stand up presentation skills
  • Demonstrated high level ability in working with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to observe & give feedback positively

  • Related expert knowledge on subject matter
