Head of Physical Operations IT - Trading

One of the world's leading and most diverse derivatives exchanges with a specialist focus in oil, gas, energy and power. 

Job Description:-

Our client is driving a new IT strategy across its front office applications and is looking for a Front Office Director who has experience of growing brand new technically-focused teams in the Physical Operations of Oil Trading.

In this role, which is based in Chicago, you will take control of the implementation of the technology to track  trades and the subsequent movement of the physical product.

• You will manage several teams of business analysts, developers and testers and will be in charge of building a world class team.
• You will liaise with other Global Heads of IT and support the traders and operators in Chicago.
• You will be responsible to evaluating and implementing cutting-edge technologies and leading multiple business-facing development teams across critical business and IT projects.

Candidate Requirements:- 

For this role you should have senior IT management experience with the ability to lead global IT teams in Front Office IT within derivatives or trading space. You should also have experience of working within a Commodities Trading or Exchange environment and have skills across a variety of development languages and technologies. You must be able to architect solutions as well as manage a team and perform code reviews.

You should have experience on developing technology that captures the post-trade physical operations, although experience around other physical logistics and supply chain environments may be considered instead.
