Communications Assistant

EUNIC Global office in Brussels is recruiting a Communications Assistant and an Administration and Communications Assistant for a six-month period (starting end of February and mid-March).
EUNIC is the network of the European national institutes for culture. Formed in 2006, EUNIC is a recognised leader in cultural cooperation. EUNIC has 32 members from 27 countries that are based in over 150 countries with more than 2,000 branches and thousands of local partners. The members work in the arts, language, youth, education, science, intercultural dialogue and development sectors. EUNIC Global office in Brussels coordinates the work of over 80 EUNIC clusters around the world.
Communications Assistant Internship
Tasks and responsibilities
  • Support in maintenance of Poliglotti website and Poliglotti social media
  • EUNIC Website maintenance in cooperation with Comms and Admin Assistant
  • Media Relations / PR Database
  • Newsletter in cooperation with Comms and Admin Assistant
  • Mailings to members of EUNIC
  • Assist in minute taking
  • Meetings and Events
  • Other
Essential requirements:
  • Advanced studies or University degree in Communications, Journalism,
  • Languages, Language Policy, Translation, Multilingual Communication or similar
  • Keen interest in Intercultural Dialogue, Multilingualism and its role in the
  • European and national context
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the EU cultural policies and how the EU works
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • English native speaker level, working knowledge of French and any additional
  • languages are a plus
  • Knowledge of and interest in Social Media and Social Media Marketing
  • (Facebook and Twitter)
  • Preferably previous experience with website management and maintenance
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and familiarity with MAC OS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to multitask and prioritize own work, attention to detail in order to ensure outstanding quality and consistency
Conditions:
Stipend of EUR 650 per month
Duration of 6 months, start date 24 February 2014
