Background
GSMA Intelligence is a relatively new team, which is working to position the GSMA as the intelligence powerhouse of the global mobile industry. GSMA Intelligence provides primary industry data and thought leadership on the mobile industry ecosystem and its wider impact. In the last quarter, our research has featured in publications including the FT, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNBC, The Daily Telegraph and a wide range of industry press.
Building on the success of it’s industry leading subscription-based market intelligence product, GSMA Intelligence is now becoming the supplier of choice for research and analysis across the GSMA organisation. The GSMA has a wide range of programmes and departments which have in the past relied heavily on top-tier external management and strategy consultants. GSMA Intelligence is now providing an alternative, bringing benefits of increased quality, consistency, visibility and cost effectiveness. Examples of recently completed projects of this nature include the Mobile Economy Europe, Mobile Economy Sub-Saharan Africa and Mobile Economy Latin America 2013 reports, and a major research project in Kenya including a survey of 300+ mobile-enabled entrepreneurs, investors and industry executives.
Following growing internal demand for these services, GSMA Intelligence is building a team of experienced, multi-disciplinary analysts to develop cutting edge research and insights that will strengthen the GSMA’s programmes and support its members.
The GSMA regularly commissions major socio-economic studies including modelling of the mobile industry and mobile applications in adjacent sectors (e.g. the impact of mobile on GDP, employment and tax revenues), and there is strong demand to insource this work.
