The Application Engineer demonstrates strong technical leadership to meet the business objectives of Turbo-machinery business in the MENAT region. In this role, you will be responsible to develop and follow-up on technical proposals for all business segments within the Oil & Gas Industry in compliance with GE Oil & Gas product policies and International Standards. You shall coordinate with internal functions like Engineering, Product Leadership, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Testing and Commercial Operation teams to successfully resolve Instrumentation & Controls technical matters related to specific customer project specifications. You shall be responsible for carrying out technical clarification meetings & negotiations with customer from early conceptual project stage until commencement of project execution. You shall be responsible to define the proposal cost base and deliver the project to execution team with the highest quality by ensuring all technical and safety triggers have been mitigated. You shall champion the company new product initiatives and drive growth by influencing and working with customers at early project stage. You shall be willing to travel to support product application engineers, commercial operation and regional sales teams on technical discussions as and when needed. You shall be able to work autonomously, taking lead in developing complex solutions, under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Bachelor degree or Master’s degree of science in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication or Computer sciences Engineering
• Min. 5- 7 years of experience in Turbo-machinery Companies (OEMs) or Maintenance Operations for NOCs / IOCs or International EPCs.
• Excellent knowledge of Turbo-machinery Instrumentation & Control systems on Centrifugal Compressors, Gas Turbines, Reciprocating Compressors, Steam Turbines & VFDs
• Excellent knowledge on MK VIe, Compressor & Antisurge control systems, Process controls. PLC based control systems, DCS, Bently Nevada systems & Instrumentation
• Support new product introduction in the market

• Basic Financial skills
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural team within a matrix organization
• Strong communication & presentation skills. Ability to influence customers with GE solutions
• Strong technical attitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
• Computer proficiency
• Fluent in English
• Available to travel at short notice
• Good knowledge on International Engineering Standards for the Oil & Gas Industry
• Familiarization with project specifications of NOCs / IOCs
• Control system design architecture & philosophy
• Able to understand detailed P&IDs and control schematics
• Good knowledge on electrical packaged items like Motor Control Center, AC/DC UPS system, transformers etc
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and work simultaneously on multiple activities
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Familiarity with GE Oil & Gas products and applications would be beneficial
• Green belt qualification (GE employees only)
