We seek qualified candidates for the position of Laboratory Specialist based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Position Description:

Laboratory Specialist will work closely with Global Director, Laboratory Sciences, Asia/Pacific Regional Office (APRO) study specific research staff and APRO service delivery staff in conducting laboratory assessment and capacity building initatives to ensure and enhance the quality of laboratory services in Asia and Africa. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting assessments and accreditation-ready inspecting clinical laboratories performing services to FHI360 research and programs. S/he will provide technical assistance to clinical laobratories as part of overall capacity building and continuous improvement schemes with reference to ISO 15189 standards and requirements. Prepare and deliver laboratory trainings and training related services to FHI360 research programs and to external agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in biological or laboratory sciences within a clinical or diagnostic discipline or specialty. At least six years related work experience in laboratory quality assurance, quality control and audits. Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform quality assurance laboratory audits and assessments against accepted national and international standards and regulations. Demonstrated creative problem solving skills and excellent written and oral communication skills including experience in training and mentoring staff and others.
