Senior Advisor/Team Leader for Health Systems Strengthening

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a recognized global leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS through a dedicated and comprehensive health systems strengthening approach. In its work to eliminate pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs, EGPAF currently supports national, district, and local governments, facilities, communities, and non-governmental partners in 15 countries. EGPAF supports service provision for comprehensive HIV care, treatment and prevention programs, and health systems strengthening, including approaches such as performance-based financing and district-approach. EGPAF has worked in Malawi since 2001. Today, EGPAF/Malawi provides critical technical support and expertise to build the capacity of MOH healthcare systems and districts and public and private facilities to increase access to comprehensive and well-integrated PMTCT and HIV care and treatment services for women, children, and families. The program is built on the cornerstones of data use, building local capacity, quality improvement and ensuring state of the art technical/clinical service delivery.

EGPAF is seeking a Senior Advisor/Team Leader for Health Systems Strengthening for an anticipated CDC-funded district health system strengthening and quality improvement for service delivery program in Malawi.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in relevant area, e.g. MPH, MBA
• 5-10 years experience with national health systems, public health and/or health service delivery in areas such as service provision, program management, economics, or strategic information.
• Technical expertise and managerial experience with proven record of delivering program results
• Capabilities in one or more areas related to health system strengthening:
• Health Economics
• Human Resources for Health
• Health Strategic Information
• Policy Formulation
• Decentralization
