JOB SUMMARY

This person would serve as a medical/technical staff for all of the medical/technical/management issues related to Bangladesh Fistula Care project that include to provide necessary support and input to the preparation of Bangladesh Fistula Care project yearly workplan and budget, provide support to the sub-awardees/partner sites from proposal development to implementation of the project activities, organize and provide different trainings for capacity building of the sub-awardees/partner staffs, supervise and monitor the activities of different sub-awardees of the project. Other responsibilities will include developing quarterly reports and the tasks as and when assigned by the Senior Program Officer and /or Country Representative.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Actively participate in the development of Bangladesh Fistula Care project yearly workplan working in a team including budget development with guidance, input and suggestions from Senior Program Officer and/or Country Representative.

2. Implement activities in accordance with the yearly work plan developed by Bangladesh Fistula Care project with support and suggestions from Senior Program Officer.

3. Organize and conduct different trainings like Counseling, Supervision and Monitoring, quarterly reporting etc. among the partner/sub awardee staffs.

4. Coordinate with partner/sub awardee sites on different programmatic and financial issues and provide necessary assistance/support for the implementation of the activities according to their yearly workplan.

5. Monitor and supervise partner/sub awardee sites (programmatic and financial) and provide necessary assistance/support for implementation of the activities, compliance with policy and therefore facilitate program development.

6. Provide necessary support in designing, developing, printing, and distributing different IEC/BCC materials related to the fistula treatment, prevention and rehabilitation, after review by Global Fistula Care Project, EngenderHealth HQ and their approval.

7. Coordinate technical inputs from Global Fistula Care Project, EngenderHealth New York Office staff and visiting consultants to projects.

8. Input online and offline data in the data-forms on a quarterly basis and develop quarterly narrative reports.

9. Participate in survey, research and evaluation activities, when assigned

When assigned, represent as Fistula Care Project, EngenderHealth Bangladesh and coordinate with officials of MOH&FW, Directorate General of Family Planning and Directorate General of Health Services at different levels in relation to the implementation of Bangladesh Fistula Care project activities.

11. Represent at different meetings/conference/workshop/seminars as a representative of Fistula Care Project, EngenderHealth Bangladesh office.

12. Perform other activities as assigned by the Senior Program Officer and/or Country Representative.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS

Must be a Medical Graduate from a recognized University. MPH and/or Obs/Gyne background desired. Have at least 5 -7 years of experience working in the field of reproductive health, focusing on maternal health, family planning, clinical contraception, and program management clinical trainer on Maternal Health, Family Planning issues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent writing and speaking skills in English and Bangla. Willingness to travel 15-20 days a month throughout Bangladesh. Computer proficiency in MS-word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required and proficiency in other computer applications will be an added advantage.

As a result, additional duties may be assigned to this position; responsibilities changed or deleted based on team assignments and re-structuring; and direct supervisor is subject to change.
