Chief Of Party – REDD+ Program - ECUADOR

Tetra Tech ARD (http://www.ardinc.com), a leading international development consulting firm based in Burlington, Vermont and Washington, D.C., is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified local candidates as part of the USAID funded Ecuador REDD+ program. This project will concentrate its assistance on those areas that will strengthen capacity, policies, and procedures from the national to the local level to reduce emissions from land degradation and deforestation, while ensuring Ecuador is ready to participate in any compliance driven carbon market that emerges.
This position is full time and will be based in Quito, Ecuador, and will require periodic travel within the country. Ecuadorian Professionals are encouraged to apply.
Anticipated Responsibilities:
The Chief of Party (COP) will be the principal liaison with USAID/Ecuador and key Government of Ecuador entities at national and sub-national level. He or she will provide overall leadership management and general technical direction of the entire program and ensure an integrated vision among different components.
Qualifications:
  • Masters’ degree in Forestry, Climate Change, Biodiversity Conservation, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or related technical field;
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in relevant environmental areas and at least 5 years working on Climate Change programs;
  • Demonstrated management experience as a team leader;
  • Experience working with large donors, including USAID, preferred;
  • Experience in Ecuador required;
  • Fluency in Spanish and English required;
