Child Protection Specialist (P-3), Kabul, Afghanistan

Purpose:
You will be accountable for the strategic development and contribution to implementation of a renewed joint partnership agreement between UNICEF Afghanistan and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission using the recommendations from the independent partnership evaluation (2011-2012) and inputs from the AIHRC and UNICEF section teams, and including programme design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of programme activities, data analysis and progress reporting to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of programme goals and objectives.

Key qualifications required:
- Advanced university degree, preferably in the social sciences, law or other relevant field.
- Five years of professional work experience at national and international levels in child protection, including international work experience.
Background/familiarity with supporting capacity of national human rights institutions to monitor, investigate and ensure redress to human rights violations, particularly with respect to child rights.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station would be an asset.
