The School of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Professor of Surgery to join the University of Western Sydney's School of Medicine at the Blacktown/Mt Druitt Clinical School, this is a pivotal position for the Medical School and the Hospital. The Professor of Surgery you will have a medical qualification, with current registration with the Medical Board of Australia and you will be able to provide leadership in teaching and research in this important discipline.

The successful applicant is expected to have attained recognition as an eminent national or international authority in their discipline. They will also be expected to make original, innovative and distinguished contributions to scholarship, research and teaching in the discipline and to make a commensurate contribution to the School and the University.

The responsibilities of this position include providing major contributions in the areas of research, academic leadership, teaching and learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Opportunities also exist and will be encouraged for collaboration in research, as well as in clinical service delivery.
