The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to coordinate our evidence based approach, leading a small and dedicated team who support our overseas programmes with field based research. The Research Coordinator will have an international overview of research within the Brooke, coordinating our research themes and interests, linking research projects and findings across country programmes and ensuring our evidence base is shared outside the organisation. The role will include limited overseas travel.


Criteria

You will need to have a doctoral research qualification in a relevant biological or social science with relevant field experience and an understanding of scientific publishing. In order to excel at this post, you will be sensitive to a range of cultures and traditions with excellent inter-personal skills. We need people who are able to understand how working equine animals support poor communities in developing countries and who have a flexible approach with an ability to adapt traditional academic research thinking to our developing country contexts. The ability to speak one of the following languages is desirable: Amharic, Arabic, French, Hindi, Spanish or Urdu.
