In this position, you will be a leader in promoting gender equitable policies in the agriculture and food sectors and in reporting on the impact of such policies; in enhancing FAO’s capacities to deliver policy support to member countries; in researching, monitoring, and providing guidance and technical support to national and regional capacity development and government policy making. You will contribute to and improve the policy content of FAO’s flagship publications and communications in collaboration with member governments, partners and clients; and foster and manage strategic partnerships to mobilize and manage resources. You will also represent the Division in internal meetings, and FAO in interagency and other meetings dealing with gender, equity, and rural employment issues.

The minimum requirements include an advanced degree in economics or other social sciences, 10 years’ relevant work, including field experience, in policy analysis and support, policy impact assessment and research related to poverty or gender inequalities in agriculture, food security and rural development (a Ph.D. may substitute for two years of experience); working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of one of the other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
