Senior Technical Advisor for Drug Management DRC

MSH is seeking candidates for a new, five-year UK DfID-funded primary healthcare strengthening program in the DRC, with an emphasis on improving reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and child health. The program will provide service delivery and health system strengthening support in approximately 30 health zones, in up to four of the eleven provinces in DRC, providing at least 3.5 million people with access to essential primary and secondary healthcare services. This position is contingent upon MSH winning the project award.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Technical Advisor (STA) for Drug Management will provide institutional support to the Central de Distribution Regional (CDR) in all supported provinces, ensuring that they have the tools and appropriate warehousing and distribution abilities to provide drugs to all supported health zones within the province. The STA will work at all levels within each supported health zone to build capacity in drug management. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a medical or public health-related area, preferably a pharmacological field and/or is a pharmacist. 2. At least eight years of work experience in pharmaceutical/public health management with relevant experience in drug management and training. 3. Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of DRC’s public health and pharmaceutical sector. Long-term work experience in DRC preferred. 4. Prior experience and success managing similar or larger international donor-funded projects. 5. Proven record of aligning diverse, multi-level teams with project mission and vision. 6. Track record of strong commitment to sharing knowledge, documenting experiences, supporting creative initiatives, and sharing credit. 7. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level colleagues, particularly interacting productively, proactively, and comfortably with government agencies, NGOs, private sector groups, USAID, CAs, and donor organizations. 8. Demonstrated strategic ability, diplomacy, conflict management, team building, supervisory, written and oral communication, and negotiation skills. 9. Strong written and oral presentation skills in English and French are required. Willingness to travel within the DRC as needed.
