VACANCY NOTICE
The EUSC is organizing a selection procedure with a view to fill the following Permanent Post* vacancy:
Job Title: Software application developer
Reference: EUSC/V08/2012
Work Unit: Information Technology Division
Responsible to: Head of Information Technology Division
JOB DESCRIPTION
The software application developer assists the projects managers in the design, development and maintenance of the applications developed in-house by the IT division and gives support to users relating to those applications. Particular duties include:
  • Collects and analyses user requirements;
  • Contributes to the general design of the application;
  • Develops required functionalities using the tools and standards validated by the IT division;
  • Performs upgrade maintenance of existing applications;
  • Documents software developments;
  • Prepares and executes training sessions for the users;
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the Head of Division.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to postsecondary education or equivalent qualification, and after having obtained the diploma, appropriate professional experience in Computer science in Informatics Systems of at least 4 years;
  • Excellent IT skills;
  • Experience in ASP.Net development (C# or VB.NET), SQL and Web service development required;
  • Experience with ESRI or Dynamics AX development, desirable;
  • Experience with Silverlight or Sharepoint development, desirable;
  • Thorough knowledge of one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of English.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Nationality of an E.U. Member State;
  • Security Clearance to at least SECRET UE, or equivalent. In case the successful candidate is not in possession of such a clearance, the EUSC will request it, but no appointment will be fully confirmed until it has been received;
  • Stress resistant and good state of health;
  • Driving license.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
  • Employment at EUSC is governed by the EUSC Staff Regulations;
  • This post is graded B3/B5 of the Coordinated Organizations salary scale;
  • Posting is at EUSC, Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) Spain;
  • Appointments are made an initial contract for four years, with a possibility of renewal;
  • The selected candidate will be required to start as soon as possible;
