Enterprise Technical Architect - Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, Manila

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Creates a technology roadmap for the partnership in collaboration with the business, engagement management, information security, infrastructure (and engineering) and finance (what can we afford over time). The deliverables would include high level roadmaps of our technical infrastructure including telecommunication, hardware, service centers and foundational software such as the operating systems, management tools, monitoring tools, and other non-client facing software.
Define the principles that guide technology decisions for the enterprise. Design and lead the implementation of an Enterprise Technology Architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies, as well as to rectify gaps and pain points within the current state. Assist with designing the governance activities associated with ensuring ETA compliance. Oversee or consult on technical architecture (for example, systems) implementation and modification activities (for example, projects), particularly for new and/or shared infrastructure solutions. Oversee and facilitate the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations.
Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs. Identify the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures and culture) and financial impact of the ETA. Document necessary technical architecture design and analysis work, possibly including project postmortem documentation and metric collection.
A good architect has to have great communication skills (oral and written) and a forward focus view on where technology and WVI are going. Working with the Senior Director of Infrastructure, this individual will take the IT strategy, Partnership strategy, current applications (and their roadmaps) and craft a technology path that enables these items.

WVI is going through a transformation from localized utilization of technology to enterprise-wide systems and solutions that unify the organization across geography and function. The Enterprise Technical Architect will be responsible for supporting the staff and resources required to develop and maintain the processes and information that transforms World Vision International in a way that meets our goals, strategies, and mission.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Commitment to Christian culture
    • Lead weekly devotions and encourage your team to attend chapel and other activities leading to growing our Christian culture

      Strategy development for delivering value to World Vision via enterprise technical architecture solutions
    • Analysis of enterprise business context (trends and business strategy) to derive technical architecture.
    • Analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
    • Definition of the principles that guide technology decisions for the enterprise
    • Analysis of technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.

      Development of Client Relationships (Engagement, Communications and Partnering)
    • Develops a trusted advisor relationship with key clients and instils this competency within the Infrastructure organization.
    • Effectively communicates and forms partnerships with employees, partners and customers to improve IT operations, support local and global initiatives, and manage exectations therein.
    • Design and lead the implementation of an ETA based on business requirements and IT strategies, as well as to rectify gaps and pain points within the current state.
    • Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.
    • Regularly communicate with key stakeholders (external and GICT) on the status and issues related to work activities
    • Provide thought leadership in the development of technical solutions to GICT and World Vision

      Develop a professional practice around Enterprise Technical Architecture solutions delivery, one that is seen as best in class and well thought of internally by the users of the service as well as externally.
    • A developed understanding of network architecture.

KNOWLEDGE; SKILLS & ABILITIES:

      REQUIRED:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
    • Seven to 10 years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in a client/server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment, including technical architecture, network design, application development, middleware, servers and storage, database management, and operations.
    • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation. Strong leadership skills with excellent analytical and technical skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent planning and organizational skills.

      PREFERRED:
    • Knowledge of all components of a technical architecture business process re-engineering principles and processes.
    • Understanding of SOA and object-oriented analysis and design.
