Greenpeace Director of Strategy & Planning

Greenpeace has conducted a strategic review that will lead to major changes in the places where it operates, in the competencies that it needs to strengthen, and in the basic operating model of its large, worldwide organization.

To implement the strategy, Greenpeace International in Amsterdam, the coordinating body of 28 national and regional offices around the world with a presence in over 40 countries in five continents, seeks a Director of Strategy and Planning, reporting to the International Executive Director.


Director of Strategy & Planning


Responsibilities include:

  • Strategy Development and Coordination
  • Leading the planning and implementation of multiple Organisational Change initiatives
  • Identifying external developments for opportunities for innovative changes

Skills required & qualifications:

  • Senior experience in a management /strategy consulting environment, or in a similar position within a global organisation
  • Extensive track record of working at the highest level in international organisations
  • Exceptional process skills aimed at implementing change in complex environments
  • Ability to create and manage change processes, with tact and persistence
  • Ability to project confidently at the highest level of Greenpeace management
  • Interpersonal skills to thrive in a multicultural opinionated environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
