Head of International Partnership Development

SALARY: £54,372 - £57,683
LOCATION: Flexible with a preference for ActionAid hub locations (Johannesburg, London, Bangkok, Nairobi, Rio)
CLOSING DATE: Friday 21 September 2012

At ActionAid we've undergone significant planned change to ensure we are better positioned to deliver lasting solutions to the problems of global poverty. A new structure and fresh thinking has re-energised the organisation.

We've now created fantastic career opportunities for experienced sector professionals who want to be part of an organisation that is delivering a bold strategy to provide sustained improvements to the poorest and most excluded people in the world. Join our action to end poverty now and be part of something truly amazing.

Our 2012-17 strategy sets ambitious objectives. Securing improved livelihoods for one million women, improving food security for 25 million people and mobilising 5 million young people to take sustained action towards building a poverty free planet are among them. You will help ensure they’re achieved.

As head of a large global team tasked with doubling our official income by 2017, you’ll set and develop our institutional fundraising strategy, and ensure it’s supported by the best systems and processes.

You and your team will help members in nearly 50 countries reach their institutional fundraising targets. You will personally manage and develop relationships with multinational institutional donors and play an important role in shaping the strategic direction of ActionAid as a whole.

Currently working at a senior level in the development sector, you’re already familiar with the latest thinking on the development areas in which we are involved. Your experience has made you skilled at building relationships with important institutional donors, and adept at writing and negotiating grant applications.

You now have an astute understanding of key donor institutions and excellent contacts in them. Your talent for communication has helped you reach this point, and developed your ability to lead an international team. You are ready to inspire an awesome step forward that will lead to a better world.
