BBC Radio Nottingham is Nottinghamshire’s most listened to radio station. Its audience appreciate our entertaining mix of news, information, discussion and music. Working as a Broadcast Assistant for our breakfast and mid-morning shows, you will have a range of skills from studio production, delivering programme content and have a wealth of creative ideas. As such you will have previous Broadcast Assistant experience with a well-developed knowledge of news and current affairs.
Working as a Broadcast Assistant, you’ll assist the Producer with all aspects of the mid-morning show / Breakfast show. You will assess and produce calls from listeners whose contributions are a key part of the show. You will be bursting with creative ideas which are topical, locally relevant and of the day and translate them into compelling radio.
You will be an experienced Broadcast Assistant and have a good understanding of our audience and local knowledge. You will demonstrate a keen interest in Nottinghamshire’s news and communities and will develop creative, original ways of tackling stories. You will have good persuasion skills plus excellent production and organisational skills. You will need to show initiative and be keen to learn.
You need to give a critical appraisal of a BBC Radio Nottingham weekday mid morning show include what you like and suggest improvements (400 words max) and email to sophie.shardlow@bbc.co.uk by noon on the 28th February
