European legislation drives much of the energy policy and regulatory activity in GB. Ofgem’s European team works on a number of projects relating to the development of cross border electricity infrastructure and market rules at the European level. In this role will contribute to the development of appropriate European cross-border rules for electricity infrastructure.

You will be expected to engage with stakeholders (both independently and as part of a team) around particular policy issues, contribute to the development and drafting of internal and external deliverables and present updates to stakeholders, senior staff and team members. This is a diverse and inter-related area, therefore the ability to identify links and interactions between project areas and to manage a varied portfolio is essential.

Key Requirements:

• Educated to degree level, or equivalent.
• Proven analytical and research skills, with the ability to draft documents.
• Experience in developing policy, in a public or commercial environment.
• Ability to represent Ofgem in external meetings, with diverse range of stakeholders.
• Well developed communication skills and the ability to deliver projects against challenging timescales.
