Job description
Department of Information and Service Economy at Aalto University School of Business will be recruiting a professor in information systems with a planned starting date of August 2013. We seek applicants in all areas of information systems. Preference is given to recent graduates with strong publication record on international level, but exceptional candidates on senior levels can also be considered. The successful applicant is expected to cover research and teaching in some of the areas of information systems or ICT enabled or supported services.

The position is located in the Department of Information and Service Economy, which consists of four disciplinary areas: Logistics, Information Systems Science, Quantitative Methods and Management Science. The department offers a master's program in Information and Service Management and has a doctoral program in information systems with about 15 doctoral students enrolled. There are currently about 23 faculty members, of which 7 are in the Information Systems group. The Department appreciates an active approach to international research collaboration and business co-operation. Both are supported by our current faculty and Aalto Service Factory (an open collaboration platform for service research and education of the Aalto University).
Requirements
Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring graduate students and to developing and maintaining an active program of sponsored research. Applicants must hold a PhD in Information Systems, or a closely related field. Junior candidates must demonstrate promise of excellence in research through international top-level publications and the ambition to become an excellent teacher. Senior applicants should have an outstanding track record of research, demonstrated ability for academic leadership and teaching accomplishments.
The selected candidate is expected to conduct and supervise research in Information Systems, to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, to follow and contribute to the advances in the field internationally, to participate in service to the Aalto University community and to take part in societal interaction.
The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research, teaching and academic leadership and activity in the scientific community.
Salary
Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities, but applicants may also provide their own salary requests.
