Seconded National Expert , Eurostat

Nature of the tasks:

The Dissemination Unit seeks a seconded national expert to work, under the supervision of the team leader, in the following areas:

•  improvement of the content and functionality of the Eurostat website, which is the main channel for the delivery to users of all Eurostat data, metadata, publications and other information
•  design and implementation of the next generation Eurostat website
•  European Statistical System (ESS) projects on communication and dissemination, notably the ESS.VIP (ESS Vision Infrastructure Projects) programme and initiatives on shared dissemination IT tools and open data.

The seconded national expert will work closely with statistical production units in Eurostat on the creation and improvement of website content and functionality. The expert will participate in technical projects involving the use of advanced web technologies for dissemination.

The seconded national expert will be expected to manage projects in these areas, involving the following types of tasks, within the general framework of Eurostat’s project management methodology:

•  establishing specific project objectives, based on evaluation of requirements and options for achieving them, together with appropriate progress indicators;
•  monitoring of progress;
•  evaluating results in relation to project objectives, with reference to indicators;
•  liaison with users in production units in Eurostat, with users and data producers in other Commission services and with partners in Member States, including participation in working groups, missions and training courses
