We are currently recruiting for a Health Specialist to join the emergency response team in Plan Philippines. The individual will bring a technical specialism into the team advising in the health component of the program particularly on maternal, neonatal and child health related program responses that impact on children, adolescence, pregnant women and lactating mothers. You will asssist with health and nutrition interventions focused on supporting the Department of Health and Local Government Units in preventing increase in maternal, neonatal and child morbidity and mortality; to reduce disability and maximize potential post disaster through ensuring continuity of services including nutrition services for these more vulnerable groups in the areas of region VIII affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
You will be a public health professional with experience/knowledge of health issues in emergency settings. Able to evidence your extensive knowledge of primary health care programs especially maternal, neonatal and child health you will have demonstrable experience in design and implementation of comprehensive primary health care programs including monitoring and evaluation. Up-to-date with current best practices in maternal, neonatal and child health you will also have experience in conducting health assessments, and an understanding of HMIS (health management information system) and disease surveillance systems..
