Position Summary

This position is responsible for overall C&P delivery on a LNG Mega Project, in line with BG’s business plan; 
- Facilitate & secure commercial advantage from the LNG contracts; and 
- Maintain BG’s reputation and integrity, through innovative contracting strategies, effective supplier/contractor relationship management and robust contracts and contract management.

Key Accountabilities

Shape and challenge the contracting strategies for LNG projects on which they are deployed to ensure:
- Commercial value is delivered in line with the business objectives for the project
- Contracts leverage BG’s scale across similar spend;
- Effective and timely award of major contracts;
- Compliance with BG’s business principles, the Corporate Governance Control Framework and Value Assurance Framework relating to their contracts portfolio.

Direct & deliver:
- Plans for engagement, negotiation and award
- Effective management of all commitments under the contract 
- Compliance with BG’s obligations under the Contract 
- Negotiated amendments to the contract as required.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

Experience Needed: 
More than 20 years experience in large construction projects and more than 15 years experience of the commercial and contractual aspects of such projects. These projects may be offshore or onshore, but will have involved multi-billion dollar spend through EPC contracts.

Must have experience of the delivery of contracts through the full chain of PM delivery.

Specific experience in LNG plant construction would be a significant advantage.

Must have knowledge in negotiating Lump Sum Turnkey projects and the necessary performance guarantees attached.

Specialist Knowledge/Languages:
 
Must be able to lead, direct and motivate large teams to deliver. Must be able to work in a matrix organisation and balance the needs of project deliver and functional excellence.

Will have a degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, law, cost management or supply chain management.

Will be extremely resilient and able to manage ambiguity.
