Description 
The GSMA is looking for an experienced telecoms forecasting analyst for its GSMA Intelligence business to support its existing team of analysts. The ideal candidate will display a strong mathematical knowledge and experience in forecasting market trends. The role demands a considerable level of self-discipline and self-management and would suit a highly-motivated professional looking to work in a growing analyst team and expanding business. Experience in the telecoms sector is required, with mobile experience preferred. Multiple language ability would be an added bonus. Main Duties and Responsibilities Functional • Undertake granular forecasting activities and help improve forecast accuracy • Manage and update comprehensive set of ongoing forecast models at mobile network technology, operator and country levels • Enhance statistical models • Write reports based on GSMA Intelligence data and contribute to the group’s qualitative research agenda • Respond to client enquiries regarding GSMA Intelligence data Leadership • Provide peer review and guidance across existing forecasting models • Ability to lead the work of project teams • Ability to formally train less experienced staff • Set appropriate objectives for self and others in line with wider GSMA Intelligence team goals

GSMA Intelligence is the definitive source of mobile operator data, analysis and forecasts, delivering the most accurate and complete set of industry metrics available. Relied on by a customer base of over 800 of the world's leading mobile operators, device vendors, equipment manufacturers and financial and consultancy firms, the data set is the most scrutinised in the industry. With over 13 million individual data points (updated daily), the service provides coverage of the performance of all 1,140 operators and 1,153 MVNOs across 3,505 networks, 65 groups and 236 countries worldwide.

Criteria 
Academic • Graduate with good degree in either science, engineering or mathematics Functional • Strong analytical and numeracy skills • Experience in writing concise reports • Extremely proficient at Microsoft Excel Interpersonal skills • Works well with team members • Willingness to work in results oriented team environment where priorities can change • Provides proactive support to team members • Ability to review and critique output of others Domain expertise • Direct experience in working with large volumes of data • Strong experience in data modeling and forecasting • A minimum of three years of previous telecoms sector experience required, with mobile experience preferred Behaviours • Highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve processes • Typically resolves complex research problems where a precedent may not exist • Demonstrates individual high performance attributes
