Faculty Position in Environmental and Civil Engineering at Reykjavik University

The School of Science and Engineering at Reykjavík University is looking to hire a faculty member in the field of Environmental and Civil Engineering.
The successful candidate will be required to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and supervise student projects at all levels, lead a research group in the corresponding field as well as participating in curriculum development and administration. The position offers opportunities to shape and influence recently established programmes, within a fast growing and innovative university.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related fields. Relevant research and/or professional experience is appreciated, as is demonstrated teaching excellence.
We are looking for a leader to help us strengthen the environmental focus in our research and educational programmes. The applicant's technical knowhow and research interests should address one or more of the following topics: Environmental fluid mechanics; The impact of human activity on the natural and built environment and the development of sustainable means to prevent or minimize this impact; Global and local environmental issues; Life cycle analysis of construction projects; Green buildings and ecological construction methods for sustainable development; Waste management and natural resource management.
Position levels can range from assistant professor to full professor, depending on the qualifications of the applicant. Salary level is negotiable and relocation assistance is offered. The position is available immediately, but starting date is negotiable. We may fill more than one position, depending on the number of qualified applicants.
