Application Developer South Africa-Gauteng Province

Reporting to the Business Support Manager, African Barrick Gold seeks to appoint an Application Developer. The successful person will be responsible for the development and maintenance of solutions, focusing on Microsoft Enterprise product space, as well as Enterprise systems integration. These skills include leveraging Visual Studio to create and develop custom ASP.NET, Windows Forms application, Windows Services, Web Services, Silverlight applications, SharePoint advanced workflows and integration

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• .Net/AJAX development
• Create workflows and electronic forms with integration in Enterprise Systems
• SharePoint (SPS) Administration and support for 2003/2010
• Create, design and improve reporting function based on business needs; maintain current reports and other applications.
• Application Performance: monitor and improve through maintenance and best practise methods.
• Standards: implement standards, invoke best practice procedures for the database and SharePoint (SPS) environments
• Support and maintain the MOSS intranet and implement new sites and within the region and continual support and maintenance of environment.
• Integrate old services and implement standardisation across the region and document for support and compliance requirements
• Create web parts to improve data visibility and reporting thereof

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS

Education
• MCP, MCAD, MCSD.NET, MCPD, MCTS, MS SharePoint (SPS) Designer 2007 / 2010.
• ASP.NET; HTML, Javascript, AJAX;
• Degree - Computer Science, Engineering.

Experience
• Minimum 4 years working experience as a database administrator or sharepoint developer
• Implementation, design and maintenance MOSS environments
• Previous experience developing BI solutions would be a distinct advantage
• Implementation, design and maintenance SQL jobs
• Oracle DB skill would be advantageous

Must be able to legally work and live in South Africa.
