Underground Ore Control Geologist United States-Nevada

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will work with mining crews, mine supervision, and mine engineers to safely and profitably extract ore from underground. Sample ribs and faces and map geology exposed in the underground mine. Compile mapping and sampling information in VULCAN computer program and correlate it with existing models. Based on sample results and mapping information, determine the routing of broken rock in the underground mine. Prepare daily reports as required, and monitor routing of mine muck on surface. Log underground drill core and RC drilling chips as needed. Other duties as assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Bachelors of Science degree in Geology or related field required
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in mine operations required
• Familiarity with mine modeling software such as Vulcan preferred
• Knowledge of mineral resource estimation techniques and guidelines preferred
• Experience in underground mapping, drilling and geological interpretation preferred
• Ability to work within a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
