Associate Director, Health Sector Communications in Washington, DC

We seek qualified candidates for the position of Associate Director, Health Sector Communications in Washington, DC or Research Triangle Park, N.C.

The Associate Director will be responsible for developing and implementing high-level strategies and special initiatives to support FHI 360 communications in the areas of global and domestic health and health-related research efforts. The Associate Director will also be actively involved in supporting FHI 360 country offices in strategy development and implementation of programs within the scope of the position. Develop and implement communications strategies/plans to establish, protect, elevate and reinforce FHI 360’s leadership in the fields of health and health-related research. Based on this knowledge, develop strategic and integrated print/web/social media/other campaigns to further FHI 360’s business goals in health.

BS/BA in communications, business or related discipline and 10 years relevant work experience, preferably as a public relations/communications or MA/MS/MBA in a related field with a minimum of eight years relevant work experience. Ability to take initiative and proactively manage multiple large, complex projects under tight deadlines. Exceptional writing and communication skills and expertise in tailoring communications to a wide variety of audiences. Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
