BBC Journalism Trainer, Sierra Leone

Department: BBC Media Action is the independent international charity of the BBC which uses media to advance development worldwide. Our mission is to improve the quality of people’s lives in developing and transitional countries through innovative use of media. We do this through our focus mainly on health, governance and human rights and humanitarian/resilience work. We work in partnerships that include governments, broadcasters, civil society institutions, donor agencies and international Non Governmental Organisations (NGO’s). BBC Media Action is largely funded by external grants, mainly from the UK's Department for International Development (DFID), the European Union, UN agencies and charitable foundations.

Job purpose: BBC Media Action is looking for experienced and adaptable journalism trainers to deliver a range of radio-related training in Sierra Leone. There are three components to the training and these could be delivered by the same person or by different people. For every role you will preferably have some experience in Africa, especially Sierra Leone. You will have to show some knowledge of the current political situation in Sierra Leone.
