Consultancy to Redesign the African Governance Institute Website

Jointly supported by UNDP and UNECA, the African Governance Institute AGI based in Dakar, Senegal is a pan-African centre of excellence conceived to contribute to the development of an innovative reflection on the governance challenges with which the African continent is faced and to help implement solutions to be adopted. Due to its interdisciplinary approach and to its contribution to the intellectual dialogue on governance, the AGI serves as a forum for discussions and exchanges on Public Policy and for dialogue between different governance actors including policy makers, civil society actors, the private sector, researchers and academics.

To this end, UNDP is seeking an IT and Knowledge Management Consultant to provide technical backstopping to the AGI in revamping its communications and knowledge management strategy including the redesign of the AGI website.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The redesign of the website (integration of interactive tools, establishment of an agenda, redefinition of the management style of the document database with the establishment of a multi-criteria search engine, revitalization of the database of experts and institutions involved with issues of governance in Africa, ...);
  • The launch of a harmathèque type tool (freely accessible electronic library upon request) in English;
  • The launch of online courses.

Expected Outputs:

  • A fully operational and revamped website;
  • A freely accessible electronic library in English;
  • Set up of online courses.

Competencies

  • At least five (5) years proven experience in communications, knowledge management and strategic planning;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Working knowledge of French will be an added advantage.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Masters Degree or equivalent and appropriate skills in IT, Systems Engineering or Communication.
