CARE International UK (CIUK) is recruiting an Emergency Programme Officer (EPO) to join its Emergency Response Team (ERT). This post is offered, subject to funding, on a 10 month fixed-term contract basis, to support the team in managing its emergency response grant portfolio, with a focus on Yemen.

The EPO will work closely with the CARE Yemen Country Office and colleagues in CIUK to contract manage the DFID-funded Integrated Emergency Response Programme Consortium. The post holder will ensure that this grant is managed to a high standard, i.e. will oversee reporting, monitor progress and expenditure and ensure donor compliance. The EPO will also play an active role as part of CIUK's ERT and wider Humanitarian and Emergencies Team, supporting colleagues including on broader issues not specific to the Yemen.

The postholder will have relevant experience of working on institutionally-funded humanitarian programmes and a good understanding of DFID compliance requirements. He / she will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound budget monitoring skills and experience of working in an international development NGO. Experience of working with interagency consortia will be advantageous. He / she will also have good attention to detail and be a team player.

The post will be based in London with significant travel to Yemen (approx. 30%), so long as security conditions allow.
