Regional Project Coordinator, West Africa

Salary: Circa £29,000 pro rata
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration of Contract: One-year fixed-term contract with potential to extend, subject to availability of funding from the US Forest Service and the STEWARD Program
Location: Fauna & Flora International, Cambridge, with regular travel to West Africa

FFI is now seeking an individual to coordinate the Nimba transboundary project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall delivery of the project, liaising as possible and where relevant with the STEWARD III Program, the Mano River Union and individual country authorities in charge of the conservation management of the Nimba Mountains in Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea and Liberia. He/she will be responsible for overall leadership and project coordination to ensure both project efficacy and legacy. With a strong background in conservation and project management along with excellent communication and leadership skills, the incumbent will work within the Africa Programme team to coordinate the project from FFI’s office in Cambridge and in the field in West Africa, liaising with both the Guinea and Liberia country teams in the region.
