Research Analyst Position Announcement

The Improve Group is currently seeking applications for a Research Analyst to assist in data collection, data analysis, and reporting activities required for various evaluation, strategic planning and research projects. The Research Analyst position is full time, exempt position and offers several opportunities for travel. The successful candidate will have experience in evaluation, be highly professional and collaborative, and be committed to serving clients with respect. There is a possibility for a senior level analyst placement, depending on qualifications. The position will be based in St. Paul, MN, USA.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory Qualifications:
• Masters Degree in a related field from accredited college or university; or Bachelor’s Degree plus two to three years of data collection and analysis experience and enrollment in related Masters program; public health or public policy experience strongly desired
• Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and SPSS and ability to easily adopt new software skills
• Ability to travel throughout greater Minnesota and nationally averaging one week per month throughout the calendar year
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to meet the needs of fast-paced projects with quick deadlines
• Commitment to continuous personal growth and learning
• Comfortable interacting with program administrators, staff, and program participants/consumers
• Experience with non-profit or government administration is preferred
• Experience with public health, criminal justice, education, arts and/or human services programs is preferred
• Foreign languages are a plus

RESEARCH ANALYST RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves existing clients and contributes to projects:
• Conducts literature review or background research on behalf of clients
• Develops project-related materials such as agendas, worksheets or instruments
• Gathers data, including through interviews, documents, surveys and focus groups
• Enters, cleans and prepares data for analysis
• Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data
• Makes charts, tables and other visual representations of data
• Prepares reports or presentations
• Participates in project meetings
Builds the Improve Group business by:
• Participating in team meetings about upcoming projects
• Discussing opportunities during staff meetings
• Suggests potential new opportunities
• Presents the Improve Group positively in social networks and among former and existing clients
Helps manage the Improve Group business by:
• Completing tasks within allocated time
• Participating in staff and committee meetings and completing relevant tasks
• Managing time card effectively
• Responding to emails and other communications

Research Analyst details:

Benefits include PTO, medical, dental and 401(K). Entry level salary is $45,000-$48,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
