Senior Engineer - Digital Hardware, Firmware CommProve - Bologna Area, Italy

CommProve is seeking an experienced hardware and firmware engineer for our main R&D site in Scandicci just outside of Florence in Italy. The position warrants more than 15 years of experience from many different types of designs preferably for telecom applications. It is of paramount importance that the Senior Engineer is of high energy, high intelligence and with peak technical skills to be able to drive CommProve to the next level in hardware performance. It is a requirement to be able to speak Italian and English.

The Senior Engineer will assist CommProve with all aspects of hardware and firmware designs including but not limited to:

• Complex digital circuit designs;
• Extensive experience in PCB placement/layout,simulation techniquesand in mechanical design;
• Expert knowledge in one or more of the following: Mentor Graphics, Altium, Invertor;
• FPGA Design for multi-gigabit applications;
• Extensive knowledge of Xilinx Virtex 5+ platforms;
• Excellent Knowledge of VHDL;
• Experience with RTL design and System C language;
• Experience with PlanAhead tool;
• Excellent Knowledge of PCIe protocols;
• Knowledge of Telecom transport Protocols (e.g. ATM/HDLC/IP) andDMA;
• Degree qualified in Electronic or Electrical and ElectronicEngineering;
• Act as an interface between design , development, componentssupply and production, ensuring alignment of these activities.

The Senior Engineer will report into the Vice President of R&D. CommProve is willing to consider relocation assistance for applicants from outside of Italy.
