Security Manager Obuasi Mine based in Ghana


Our Obuasi Mine based in Ghana, requires a suitably qualified and experienced Security Manager, who will be accountable for assisting the Executive Security Manager to translate the Operations and CAR Security strategies and tactical plans into operational plans and develop systems and processes, considering the establishment of new technologies, knowledge and practice development within the existing knowledge base, in line with profitability and objectives of the operation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The role holder has the following accountabilities and authorities:
  • Ensuring the implementation of the Global Security objectives and standards.
  • Identification, analysing and interpreting of security risks within the Operation’s area and design and  implement strategies and systems to mitigate identified risk and to prevent and reduce loss of the Operations assets.
  • Ensuring the successful implementation of the Security Framework at the Operation.
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance to the Metallurgical and Mining Global Security Standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining a methodology that supports strategic intelligence and analysis, business and competitive intelligence, which contributes to the sustainability and “license to operate” of current and planned operations of the Operation.
  • Maintaining an effective network of contacts internally and externally to analyse and influence security direction and policy. Consult with relevant stakeholders, to ensure that security operations are conducted within regulatory jurisdiction and globally accepted social and human rights standards.
 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree and / or diploma or equivalent in Security and / or Risk Management.
  • Proven experience in security and risk specialization in the mining industry and / or associated business fields in management capacity.
  • Be familiar with and proven compliance with regulatory and legal requirements that govern the security industry (including security service providers).
  • Proven experience in project management of projects with a high level of complexity.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Preference will be given to Ghanaian Nationals
REPORTING TO:
 Executive Security Manager
REMUNERATION:
Salary will be in accordance with the AngloGold Ashanti Schedule of Salaries.
