GSMA – The Role - The Insights Manager will be responsible for implementing the programme’s insights generation and dissemination strategy. S/he will work closely with the Senior Insights Manager, other mWomen team members, other GSMA and GSMA M4D teams and key external partners to develop content and tools to encourage and equip mobile operators and other key actors to increase women’s access to and use of mobile phones. S/he will be responsible for developing content for case studies, insights papers, toolkits and longer research reports through a combination of both primary and secondary research, including through structured interviews, data analysis, and managing a cadre of consultants for targeted research objectives. Additionally, the Insights manager may be responsible for managing targeted high-profile research partnerships to deliver collaborative reports that will be highlighted at major events such as the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Unlike many research roles, the primary audiences for this work are mobile network operators and NGO implementing partners. Therefore, the research is designed to be actionable for both operators and implementers. In addition, the Insights Manager will significantly contribute to the M&E activities for the programme’s grant portfolio. The Insights Manager will perform the following roles: • Contribute to and develop an M&E framework and methodology for the mWomen Innovation grant portfolio in conjunction with the Sr. Insights Manager and other members of the mWomen team • Support the Advisory team in shaping learning objectives and monitoring and evaluation plans for individual grants • Individually contribute and support other mWomen team members on a set of case studies, insight reports, tools and other priority knowledge products • Manage select knowledge partner relationships to shape and deliver content for high-profile research reports • Manage consultants as needed to develop content for select Insights publications • Deliver content themes of key GSMA mWomen events such as Working Group meetings and Mobile World Congress • Present mWomen content at targeted events, workshops, and webinars • Deliver consolidated reports on operational learnings, the business case for women, and social impact on women of the Innovation Grant portfolio at the end of this phase of the mWomen program • Contribute to team blogs and twitter feed as needed The Insights Manager will report to the GSMA mWomen Senior Insights Manager, who is based in Washington, DC. S/he will work closely with the GSMA mWomen team and colleagues within GSMA Mobile for Development. 

Criteria 
Criteria for Selection - The ideal candidate would possess most of the following: • Experience in designing M&E programs within an international development institution or NGO in Africa or Asia • Experience working in the international development, mobile operator, and/or corporate responsibility sectors, with a broad understanding of the key trends, issues, players and approaches • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including the ability to generate frameworks and structure analyses • Superior ability to prepare a concise, compelling written materials of all types for a variety of audiences, including senior executives • Experience delivering results working within diverse, collaborative and geographically distributed teams • Familiarity and/or interest in the mobile for development (M4D or ICT4D) sector • An entrepreneurial, creative, can-do orientation • Conscientious, with high personal standards and attention to detail • Excited to travel ~30% of the time throughout the project.
