Campaigns Manager Abuja, Nigeria

£24,245 per annum, negotiable with attractive benefits

Accompanied position for partner and recognised dependents

Campaigning for change is one of the best ways to achieve lasting solutions to poverty. And Oxfam is campaigning tirelessly to build a future where everyone always has enough to eat – and the GROW campaign is at its heart. Supporting small-scale farmers, especially women, to become more efficient and productive, the campaign has a direct affect on economic justice and aims to eradicate hunger and suffering across 40 countries. Putting these plans into action in Nigeria, you’ll be a driving force who takes it to the next level.

The role

In this high profile role, you’ll head up the implementation of Oxfam’s global GROW programme in Nigeria, doing all you can to maximise its impact. That means working with the Country Director and right across Oxfam to coordinate its delivery – reviewing and shaping organisational objectives, making sure the campaign is delivered to the requirements of the region and generating good media coverage of our work. And as you would expect at this level, you’ll do more than oversee the operational side of things. You’ll also motivate and coach the campaign project managers, liaise and coordinate with partner organisations and political figures, and ultimately, make sure our collective voices are heard on a global scale.

What we’re looking for

Coming from a background in campaigns and advocacy work, you’ll bring extensive knowledge of the industry and a solid understanding of agricultural policies and livelihoods issues – particularly those affectingWest Africa. Your ability to think strategically means you’ll offer sound judgement across a far-reaching decision-making process and have influence over political agenda. You must be confident at liaising at country and regional level and even global scale, your communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills will be second to none. And it’s absolutely vital that you’re a strong leader who’s committed to building collaborative relationships, both directly and indirectly, right across the organisation.

About Oxfam

A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
