Qualifications:

Candidates for this post should be a person of integrity, senior academic members of staff, of the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with past experience in a recognized University, and with an outstanding record of scholarship, teaching and service to community.

Duties

Be responsible to, Chief Advisor of, and close assistant to.the Vice-Chancellor in providing leadership co-ordination in all academic, research and consultancy services of theUniversity;

Work in liaison with Constituent College Provosts and DeputyProvosts for Academic Affai\il;

Deputize for the Vice-Chancellor during the Vice- Chancellor's absence from office, urlless the Vice-Chancellor decides

Otherwise by nominating someone else as he/she deems fit;

Have such powers and duties as the Vice-Chancellor may delegate to him/her subject to the provisions of clause (6) of Article 37 of the TUMA Charter.

Tenure of Office

Hold office for a term of four years and may be re-appointed for one more term of four years.
