Position Description:
The Intern will support the National Asthma Control Initiative (NACI), which is funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), and is operated out of FHI 360’s Social Marketing and Communication Center. The intern will work closely with NACI staff to implement a variety of NACI activities. Major tasks will include:
· Provide administrative and logistical support to the program
· Assist with data analysis and report writing
· Participate in writing and review process for NACI materials that may include items for print, Web, and peer-reviewed publications
· Assist with clerical and support duties, such as copying, scanning, maintaining electronic files, processing invoices, etc.
· Provide support for other activities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
BS/BA and/or current graduate student in public health or related field. Strong preference given to individuals with previous experience working on asthma-related programs. Minimum of one (1) year of office/administrative experience required (internships included). Experience working with diverse populations required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team. Demonstrated ability to be responsive, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer skills.
