In this role, you will need to ensure compliance with BHP Billiton’s commitment to Zero Harm, which will include demonstrating a record of uncompromised values of Sustainability, Integrity, Respect, Performance, Simplicity and Accountability. The successful candidate will be a results-driven individual that will become part of our talented team.

As a Production Superintendent, you will be part of the management team accountable to manage and lead the Carbon refractory team. The main accountability of this role is to ensure that Anode Bake Furnace and Rodding Shop refractory are constructed, installed and maintained to current world best practice. You will be required to mobilise and supervise contractors, suppliers and vendors to ensure safe provision of production services in line with the refractory production plan, process specifications and technical standards. You will also participate in our drive for zero harm in promoting health, safety, and environment, quality and housekeeping standards by facilitating adherence to best practices for safety, compliance with all regulations and procedures and initiate corrective action where necessary.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience and proven capability in industry best practice and concepts in ABF and Rodding Shop Refractory Systems, supported by 10 to 15 years’ relevant technical and professional experience in the Aluminium Industry and AP Technology.
