Chemonics Technical Specialists in Iraq
Chemonics seeks technical specialists for the ongoing
$76-million, four-year, USAID-funded Iraq Governance Strengthening
project. Launched in October 2011, the project supports decentralization
efforts to build the capacity of Iraqi subnational government units to
effectively respond to the needs of their constituencies, increase
citizens' involvement in local decision-making, and increase the
accountability and transparency of local authorities.

Chemonics seeks specialists with experience in the following areas:
- Integrated development in planning and budgeting/strategic planning
- Policy reform
- Public-private partnerships
- Local government associations
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field required
- Minimum five years of relevant work experience required
- Minimum five years of experience with a USAID-funded project or similar international organization preferred
- Proven track record in similar local governance position
- Experience working in developing or transitional environments
- Experience developing and facilitating training and producing training materials
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Experience working in the Middle East required; experience working in Iraq preferred
- Must be willing to travel and work in Iraq
- English fluency required; Arabic language skills strongly preferred
