ISS Governance Services is a leader in proxy voting and corporate governance matters. We deliver corporate governance solutions that enhance the interaction between shareholders and companies, in order to help shareholders manage risk and drive value.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ISS is currently looking for a one-year temp to support the Corporate Governance Data and Research Teams covering France and Romania.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to cross-team projects involving governance data collection or review, the main responsibilities for the open position will be the following:

  • Review and coding of the resolutions proposed at general meetings of listed companies;
  • Monitoring, analysis, and recording of data and information provided by companies under their regulatory disclosure requirements;
  • Liaising with issuers to procure regulated information;
  • Reviewing governance rating (GRId) data;
  • Analysis of resolutions against ISS voting policy and issuing vote recommendations on these resolutions;
  • Preparing reports in English detailing the analyses and explaining why a certain vote recommendation was given.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant bachelor degree in law, economics, political science, or finance (or equivalent);
  • Fluent in English, French AND Romanian;
  • Excellent command of Word/Excel required;
  • Knowledge in database functioning is desirable;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Capacity to work independently, take initiatives, and interact with other team members;
  • Rigorous, organized and structured mind to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines;
  • Very good eye for detail;
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a governance-related field, finance or company law.
