The European Aluminium Association (EAA) is looking for a Sustainability data officer, who is primarily responsible for the building, maintenance and exploitation of data bases. EAA is the representative body of the European Aluminium industry. The members are the aluminium producers and National Aluminium Associations. EAA has acquired a solid reputation and expertise in sustainability and life cycle assessment (LCA) as a publisher of sustainable development indicators and environmental profile reports, and statistical data for the European Aluminium Industry. Data collection, consolidation and publishing are key activities of the association in support to the overall EAA sustainability strategy. He/she will work in close relation with the Sustainability & LCA Director and the Economics & Statistics Director.

Your responsibilities:

1) Data collection, consolidation and management:

  • Developing reporting forms in close relation with the EAA staff experts;
  • Maintaining and developing reporting networks;
  • Data purchasing, collecting, controlling and validating;
  • Data consolidating and organising in database for easy access and management.

2) Data processing and communication:

  • Data averaging, interpreting and reporting within internal reports for the European Aluminium industry;
  • Modelling and developing LCI datasets using specific software (e.g. GaBi software);
  • Providing support for the preparation and publication of external sustainability or environmental reports.

Your profile:

You have a Master’s degree (economics, engineering, environment, science, or related) or equivalent through acquired experience (2-5 years). You should be able to set up and manage electronic databases and have good IT expertise. You should be able to work in a team and have good communication skills. Knowledge in environmental science, life cycle analysis and engineering is a plus.

Skills:

  • Very good English knowledge (working language of the association);
  • Strong appetite for systems and data collection;
  • Expertise in Excel/PowerPoint;
  • Team player with good communication skills;
  • Expertise in sustainability and life cycle assessment is a plus;
  • Willing to learn and proactive.
